1. 5A casa é completa, todos os quartos bem equipados, extremamente confortável, cozinha com tudo, lavanderia, enfim. Fomos em um grupo de amigos e todos nos sentimos a vontade.

2. 5From the moment violet checked us in until we left we had a great time at villa kali. Beautiful views from the top street closest to the back of lions head mountain and a very safe area. Spacious areas on the property with lots of places to relax and see the city from up on high. 10/10 stay with the only caveats being The garage has two of the four spaces available and the construction on both sides of the house so check the listing to see if still there!

3. 4Great place for large groups. The most incredible view of the ocean, relaxing and therapeutic. Expected the furniture to be slightly more modern though, besides that, it’s a good spot.

6. 5We stayed at Charl’s place for a couple of days and it was wonderful. Villa is huge with ample space for large groups. Villa is in a prime area with spectacular views. We enjoyed everything about the villa including the swimming pool. Five stars!

7. 4We had an absolutely fantastic stay in Cape Town! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
   The property was spotless, beautifully maintained, and exactly as described, if not better.
   The space was generous, comfortable, and perfect for our group of friends.
   The location was also ideal, close enough to all the main attractions, restaurants, and beaches, yet peaceful and private when we wanted to relax.
   The sunset was a real highlight of the trip.
   The host was very responsive, accommodating, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay.
   Check-in was seamless, and any questions we had were answered immediately.
   Overall, this place played a huge part in making our Cape Town trip unforgettable.
   We would 100% stay here again.

13. 5After a lovely week here, we must say that we are very pleased with the villa and neighbourhood. A great pool and relaxing sunbeds! Very happy. My friend also accidentally leaned on the alarm so it went off, so the security was there after like 5 minutes and that was very safe for us to see! Charl and the security was also very understanding for the accident!
    Recommended!

We were greeted on arrival and were able to communicate as we needed to. The Villa itself was stunning and provided us with a sanctuary between our local adventures. I would ABSOLUTELY stay again.

19. 5My family and I were at Charl’s home in Cape Town while visiting for a week and enjoyed everything the town and surroundings had to offer. Its in a great location near Lions Head and within driving distance of all the tourist attractions. We definitely felt at home, the area was safe and communication was efficient. The home itself is spacious, clean and updated with all amenities needed for a family stay.
    We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great host and home in Cape Town!

20. 5A stay Villa Kali in Bantry Bay is one of Caoe Town’s best-kept secrets! High on the lower slope of Lion’s Head, it offers unmatched mountain views including Lion’s Head and Twelve Apostles, as well as panoramic ocean views. Charl is a most excellent host, and ensured our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable. You won’t be disappointed staying here!

21. 5Charl und Violet, waren vor und während der Reise immer sehr hilfsbereit, bei all unseren Fragen.
    Die Lage des Hauses war für uns super. Es ist recht weit oben am Hang gelegen mit einem tollen Blick auf Seapoint. Für uns ein super Ausgangspunkt mit unseren Autos nach Kapstadt oder ans Kap der guten Hoffnung zu fahren.
    Wie waren insgesamt zu acht (4 Erw 4 Teenager ) und hatten ausreichend Platz.
    Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch der Kosmetik und Massage Service, der für die Villa angeboten wird.
    Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in Kapstadt!!!

24. 3Charl was very communicative and the place/stay was great. However, I did not appreciate being told I would be charged for a missing blow dryer that was found in the home once a thorough inspection took place. I was shocked to have received a message stating I would be charged for the blow dryer without any questions or extra effort to search the place for it to have been potentially misplaced. Charl eventually said that the blow dryer was found and no payment was issued, however, the way it was addressed wasn’t appropriate.

25. 5Charl’s comms were really good, proactive and with plenty of local recommendations. The villa has great views and the pool was really lovely. It’s not the most walkable spot (being at the top of the hill, with not much in the way of close-by supermarkets/eateries), but Charl had very helpful recommendations for snappy grocery delivery, so we never felt like we were missing out there.

    We had an amazing stay! The host was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and provided great information throughout the entire process. From booking to departure, we experienced excellent service, flexibility, and helpful tips that made our stay even better.
    The place itself was beautiful – stunning views, high standards, spotless, and well-maintained facilities. Located in a lovely part of the city, with great areas just a short trip away, it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our time.
    We couldn’t be happier and would definitely love to come back in the future. Thank you for a fantastic stay! ??

29. 3The staff threw my $1,000 outfit away without contacting me—while I was still sitting downstairs in the house, waiting for check-out. At first, the host seemed helpful, saying I could come check or that the house manager would look for it. But the moment he realized it was thrown away, he switched from friendly to aggressive, screaming at me like someone who got busted. He then blocked me and my friends, claiming it’s “normal” to throw things away—despite no such rule in his house policies. The place itself is fine but outdated, and for the price, you can find better. If you stay here, double-check everything, because if you leave anything behind, it’s gone.

31. 5My friends and I had a great stay at Charl’s! The views from the house are absolutely beautiful and we felt safe in the location.
    We had a few issues- a broken stool in the living room plumbing/drainage issues in the shower of the master bathroom and the sinks in some of the other bathrooms. The host said that he will address this for the next guest but it did make some of our stay uncomfortable.
    That being said, Charl was a great host and I recommend his spot. Make sure you catch the sunset from the top balcony!

    Violet the housekeeper is super friendly, professional and helpful, and takes great pride in what she does.
    Very flexible check in and out.
    Wonderful place inside and out.
    Very comfortable, kept immaculately clean, has everything you could need, including a welcome hamper and drinks.
    If you are someone who likes to sleep in, check with the host Charl if the construction oppopposite is still taking place. They work 8am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. Not an issue if you are out living life during those times.
    Highly recommended

Everything is perfect: beautiful views, very strong internet in every room, properly maintained house + pool. The communication with the host was perfect, with every one of his messages there was a positive note included that put a smile on my face.

48. 4Die Villa ist wirklich traumhaft schön und der Ausblick auf den Atlantik und Kapstadt, mit dem Lions Head im Rücken war einfach unbeschreiblich. Unsere Familien haben sich hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Haushälterin Violet hat uns wirklich gut geholfen. Das einzige Manko ist, dass die Möbel und die komplette Ausstattung der Villa teilweise schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen ist. Es hat dem Aufenthalt keinen Abbruch getan aber langfristig muss hier definitiv mal etwas gemacht werden. Ein zweiter Punkt, der sehr ärgerlich war, ist die Baustelle direkt vor der Tür. Wenn man unter der Woche am Pool liegt oder auf der Terrasse sitzt, kann sie schon sehr stören. Alles in allem war es aber ein super Aufenthalt und wir würden die Villa wieder buchen. Vor allem für Familien oder größere Gruppen geeignet, denn jeder hat dank der vielen Zimmer und Badezimmer immer noch seine Privatsphäre.

55. 5I have stayed in Airbnb’s all over the world and this one by far is the best. Breath taking view. Only negative was location and not being too close to sites, stores and restaurants. But we did have car.

58. 5A beautiful villa 10-15 min drive from the city center depending on traffic. Located high up hill so walking sometimes to the villa was a good thorough exercise. Those who will be staying on the top floor in the master bedroom will be treated to a breathtaking view of the Atlantic ocean and the west side of Cape Town. You never get tired of that view! In my opinion there is only one thing that could be better – the wifi coverage. For me it worked only on the ground floor. For some of my colleagues it worked sometimes on the top floor, too. Other than that, we had an amazing time at the villa and strongly recommend it to anyone!
    We felt very welcomed and accommodated by Charl and his crew.

59. 2The positive side: Very good, calm location, breathtaking views,
    good communication, kitchen equipped well.
    However: The sleeping size of the bed in the main master room is a joke,1,40m width and very soft. We had to split and sleep in separate rooms ( we are not super-fat!)
    When we came, there had not been any umbrellas or cushions in the pool-area, which has sun all day. We asked for this and they brought it. When there is load-shedding, you cannot open the garage, as it is impossible to unlock the mechanical blocker ( a part is missing).Tough luck, when the car is in.The lift from the garage to the house is not working at all, you need to be fit to manage several staircases with luggage and groceries etc.
    One bathroom was invaded by ants.
    The whole house cries for investment, very old furniture, shabby ,dirty rugs ( kind of disgusting, need to be exchanged) , old run-down furniture.
    To sum up: The house and location is nice, the condition is not.
    Would we come again: No.

61. 5La maison est belle, grande et très agréable à vivre pour notre famille de 9 personnes. Elle est un peu datée mais très design. La vue et l’emplacement sont parfait. Le chemin de randonnée situé à moins de 100 m qui longe Lion’s Head est magnifique.
    La housekeeper Violet est très gentille et serviable , et notre hôte est très prévenant par nos échanges par Email.
    Bref, nous sommes très content.

The location is easily accessible to all the main attractions Cape Town has to offer. The service we received was outstanding. Charl went the extra mile when we missed our flight and got in late the next day by ordering us pizza and having the fridge stocked with food for us. 71. 5Stunning house with some of the best views I have seen, with an ideal location for getting about. Stayed with the family and two young children, swimming pool certainly won them over as did the pool table.
    Very well kitted out, with lots of nice little touches. Highly recommend and would certainly look to book this place again.

This Airbnb is so beautiful inside and outside and is exactly as described. It is also in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. 74. 5Beautiful views, Beautiful place…..What more? Awesome place to airbnb. Quite and safe lots of space for 12. Each bedroom has its own bath and shower, A/C bedroom. Even has its own rental van for large groups. If your looking to get away from the fast lane and relax this is your place and it is only a 10 min car ride down the mountain to get to night life. Enjoy Cape Town from above..

75. 5Once in a lifetime trip with a once in a lifetime mansion! My friends and I loved staying at Charls place, great location- although not waking distance to most places, but ubers made the trip really easy and they are very cheap. Live in housekeeper Wilfred was super helpful and super lovely, even checking that we arrived safely home after our flights back to the UK! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a gorgeous mansion without the crazy price tag! Thanks so much Charl and wilfred!
