House of Views is located at the very top of the Camps Bay, providing breathtaking mountain and sea views, as well as majestic, romantic evening sunsets. It is close to the world-famous Camps Bay and Clifton beaches, Central Cape Town, Table Mountain Cable Car, the scenic Chapmans Peak Drive to Cape Point, as well as the Green Point Stadium, the V&A Waterfront, and the tourist information center. Only minutes from restaurants, theatres, nightlife, clubs & bars, wine routes, golf courses, diving, paragliding, parasailing, horseback riding, bird watching, historic sites, and the Royal Cape Yacht Club.
This contemporary villa, with its striking linear design, was created to highlight the mountain's and sea's most precious features. With this in mind, it provides an excellent flow from the interior living areas to the front and back outdoor patios.
At the front, overlooking Camps Bay, is a glazed tiled patio highlighted by a deep blue rim flow pool and a sparkling outdoor Jacuzzi spa bath, as well as other expansive entertainment areas, both tiled and lawned.
The villa's rear allows guests to experience the wild side simply by stepping off the fan cobbled terrace onto the slopes of Table Mountain National Park... the Twelve Apostles.
With the amazing unobstructed views both front and back along with exceptional security, few villas can come close to what House of Views has to discerning guests.
On entering the Villa through the plant lined entrance hall, you will find a formal lounge with an open fire place, living room, dining room, (double volume with large picture window), games room (with chess, dart board, pool table, air hockey table & soccer table), fully equipped kitchen and laundry.
There are 4 bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 8 people, along with 3 bathrooms (main en-suite with spa bath & dressing room). Sleeping facilities can also be arranged in the very large games room, which is the highest room in the Villa with its own patio & unobstructed views of the whole of Camps Bay & the Table Mountain Nature Reserve. Each bedroom is equipped with its own TV, clock radio, air conditioner (heating & cooling), safe, torch & hair drier.
All linen, crockery & cutlery are provided, except beach towels.
A large remote controlled double garage (with lots of storage), is directly linked to the Villa. There is a superior remote controlled monitored security system with armed response, for security. Very private… very secure!
The Villa is equipped with a DSTV satellite dish and an integrated surround sound system (TV. radio, video tape & CD. player). Bring your own I-pod, USB stick & CD’s.
On offer, for your enjoyment, there is a solar heated rim flow swimming pool with martini seating….Jacuzzi spa bath with massage jets….both a built-in & portable barbeque….comfortable outdoor furniture, loungers & umbrellas.
The many guests that have stayed in our Villa have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and often regarded it as a holiday of a lifetime.
Spoil yourself… come & enjoy the best of both worlds… in style!!

5Stunning location with unbelievable views!
We really enjoyed our stay ❤️
5Great information and communication from the offset. Rather a lot to take in on arrival but so helpful to know. House was gorgeous with absolutely stunning views and so much fun having the games room with so much to do! Water issue reported and resolved immediately even though it was past 11pm! Quality of the accommodation and home so deserving of the price. Other than the seasonal wind that blasted around us (no blame as just nature) we absolutely loved our stay and can highly recommend the property and the very responsive hosts. Amazing stay and so worth it! Will happily stay again. Thank you Gillian and Duncan.
5The views from the house have to be the best in Camps Bay – just incredible. Duncan and Gillian were present during check in and check out and were helpful with lots of good advice. We had such a good time and will return to the house if we are back in the area.
5What an amazing week! This home has the best view in Cape Town. We really enjoyed our stay and Duncan and Gillian were great hosts. The master bedroom is genuinely incredible and the facilities and location kept the boys entertained. Only challenge was that we didn’t check in until 6pm the day of arrival and check out was 10.30am so you do feel you’ve lost a day, but other than that – I’d highly recommend.
5Had a wonderful stay!
55 star host. Duncan and Gillian couldn’t have been nicer. They even drove us into town our first day. Felt at home and very safe. Also gave great recommendations for location restaurants (shout out Hussar Grill). No complaints and would highly recommend for anyone looking to visit Cape Town.
5Absolutely beautiful surroundings. Waking up every morning felt like being in a dream. Duncan and Gillian were fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. Location was perfect for all of our activities and the hot tub was a true highlight of perfection. Highly recommend!!!
5Stay at this place if you want incredible views! Just amazing views out the front of Lions Head and Camps Bay Beach, then look out the back and you are right at the foot of Table Mt. Any direction you look, beautiful views. The hot tub and pool are great and my family enjoyed the game room. The house is spacious and looks like the pictures. The place is also in a good location, with easy access to the city and the coast. You are also right near the trailhead for hiking around table Mt.
5D&G’s emphasis on safety made us feel at ease and relaxed on the property. The views (ocean and mountain) are spectacular! Loved the relaxed ambience of the neighbourhood which really made it feel like a holiday. Loved our stay there.
5Lovely hosts who went above and beyond to help us out and settle us in. Would definitely stay again. Absolutely stunning location and an extremely family friendly home with lots of zones to suit all ages.
5Duncan and Gillian were lovely and welcoming even arranging DSTV for us for Cricket World Cup games (:
Views are to die for and I lived in Cape Town for 30 years!
You literally have unobstructed views from both sides! Smart security set up means zero intrusive walls/razor wire fences to the rear of house which makes one feel as if they are in the mountains themselves….only house on street to have this!
As far as expectations go bear in mind this is not a new house and isn’t advertised as such to be fair (pegs for rattling windows, sharpie lines in spa bath to show where not to over fill, tricky jaccuzzi on/off button/red light to show on/off impossible to see in the daytime) All part of the charm I guess…
We booked for the POSITION and endless VIEWS not the house itself and were realistic as what to expect at this price point after months of research. Newer houses this size in similar locations were at least twice as much!
Views and position are 100% unrivalled!!
Treat yourself!
4The location and views are fantastic. The house is comfortable and well appointed. The owners are responsive and always at hand to help. However renters should be aware that very strong winds will sometimes rip through the house. The house needs to be updated and the garage is full of junk. Some of the appliances need replacing (oven, stove, washer and dryer). WiFi is slow and there are rolling blackouts. Some of these issues are not under the control of the owners but renters should be aware. The driveway is steep and requires an excellent driver. The house is cold all the time until we figured out on the last night that there is a heater as well as air conditioning unit. The heating and cooling system should be better explained, perhaps with written notes in each bedroom. There are a lot of stairs to climb especially with groceries and luggage. I think people would want to know that.
2Good and not so good:
– Lovely couple that owns the property, great communication
– Stunning views
But
– Older not updated property. For example no battery backups, including security lights. Having to use hand torches and food spoiling during load shedding is silly at this price point
– Doors + windows that all rattle heavily, pop out of their tracks, several are cracked, etc. The owners initial suggestion to shim doors with clothes pins so they rattle less again isn’t appropriate at this price
– Being asked to sign a form on arrival that we won’t use more than a certain amount of electricity, when we can’t even track that, was poor form
– Security. Standard in this part of South Africa is outer wall, then security gate / bars, then doors. This house only had glass doors with poor quality locks, no bars, no wall. We were uneasy to say the least
5The best view in Capetown. Amazing!!Duncan and Gilian are lovely hosts.
5Our stay at AView was really nice! The pictures in the listing do the views no justice, you need to experience the beauty with your own eyes! The neighborhood the villa is located in is VERY upscale, I felt perfectly safe running up and down the hilly streets every morning.
Our hosts Gillian & Duncan (and young Devon!) were super informative and knowledgeable about both their villa and the area.
There are LOTS of restaurants and hang out spots all the way down at Camps Bay Beach and the food, drinks and service hospitality were all excellent! I HIGHLY recommend a visit to Cape Town and a stay at AView villa! 🙂
5Aview was truly stunning. We woke up every single day in awe of the views below and all around us. Security was top priority and we felt very safe the entire stay. Duncan and Gillian leave everything you’ll need for the most magical visit in capetown and the location is truly next level amazing. Mountains to the back and beautiful sea to the front. Every sunset was breathtaking. We’ll be back!
5Great location, great hosts. Comms have been on point all the way through. Our plans changed from Summer 21 to Summer 22 – nothing was too much trouble. We will be back and we will stay here again!
5Huge house, superb views and as a bonus a gallery with allot of games for teenagers.
The owners are very friendly.
Highly recommended.
5Amazing place and excellent host! Where else can you have a view of the ocean out your front door and the mountains out your back door. Amazing views! Would definitely recommend and would come back.
5Definitely recommended hosts very hands on views are exceptional and the unit certainly delivered in every aspect, one Aircon was faulty and we only reported late in the stay, beautiful home with amazing pool, Jacuzzi and games room upstairs definitely a game changer, well worth spending time in this stunning home.
4Location Location Location! Camps Bay beach down below and the city lights in the horizon, and yet, a garden ? n your backyard made up from the 12 apostles nature conservatory, giving you both forest, town and beach all in one! Our teens loved the games room.
Lastly, Duncan & Gillian were available 24/7 to answer each and every call to action.
5Duncan and Gillian were outstanding hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay a very pleasant one. Their communication with us was amazing. I highly recommend a stay at Aview with these wonderful hosts.
5The two best things about this unique house are the unreal, gorgeous views and the host’s excellent and prompt communication.
We appreciated the hosts letting us check in early in the morning without charging us extra. They met us at the house to explain the alarm system (several settings) and out of the 3 airbnbs we stayed at on our trip, it was the only one that actually worked.
The contemporary layout was neat and our kids loved playing pool in the upstairs and exploring the mountain behind. There is a resident porcupine but unfortunately, we never saw it. The hosts let the kids take some quills jome they had collected, though.
Unfortunately, it was extremely windy on the mountain and made the pool too cold to swim in and kept blowing the cover off the hot tub so it never really warmed up, either. I was really looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub at night and looking at the city lights. The big glass windows from the master bedroom still provided a spectacular view.
We had a couple things not function like a toilet that kept running and the hot tub wouldn’t warm up the first couple days. The hosts were quick to respond to any issue we had. They had left a bottle of wine for us and upon learning we dont drink wine, brought us a yummy African liquor instead. They were both very sweet and helpful!
The only things I would change if I had to would be that some of the decor and fixtures could use an update to current times and the master bed not be so hard (my South African friends said that its normal to have hard beds there- Americans are just used to softer beds/pillow top beds).
5the VIEW is insane, not just overlooking the sea, but you have a national park and mountains as your back garden.
I would not normally do so many hikes in the mountains, but staying here you cant help it. We would normally choose to be beach front, but this was a pleasant surprise.
5A superb home to stay in Cape Town, and a great base to explore the area from. Duncan and Gillian were very responsive to make sure that we had a pleasant stay, and helped us to solve any issues that arose.
5Wow, what a special place to come stay, when you look at the pics and they are amazing it still doesn’t do this place any justice as the whole place is so spectacular. Views from every angle were beautiful, the clouds coming over the mountain, or the view of the beach and the sunset, combined with sitting in the infinity pool or the jacuzzi with friends or family make this such a magical place. Duncan and Gillian were very friendly and helpful and on hand on the phone if we needed anything. Highly recommend this place to stay.
5Excellent place for family journey
5What an amazing place! The house, the views, and the location could not have been better. Also, hands down the best hosts I have ever had.
