Bungalow on 4th Beach is tucked away in one of Cape Town’s most exclusive suburbs with the sea just a stone’s throw away, this luxurious retreat is perfect for a secluded and tranquil seaside escape.
A sunken lounge and open plan dining area with beautiful wooden floors and beach house chic décor set the tone on arrival at the cottage. Leading off the living area is a modern fully-equipped kitchen with double fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso machine. A breakfast bar with three stools is ideal for easy meals. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer for added convenience. The lounge has a large flat-screen television and comfortable couches for relaxing and entertaining. American shutters cool interior spaces and provide an added level of security.
The master bedroom is spacious and light with a king/twin bed, air-conditioning and ample cupboard space. A large en-suite bathroom has an oval soaking tub and rain shower and the bedroom flows out on a sheltered terrace with beautiful ocean views. The terrace has an outdoor lounge with sun loungers and a gas barbeque.
A spiral staircase leads down to the lower level of the cottage, which houses two bedrooms, a semi-equipped kitchenette and television lounge. The kitchen offers a fridge/freezer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine and the comfortable lounge has a large flat-screen television and large couches.
The second bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with shower while the third bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a dedicated bathroom with a bath. The second level of the cottage opens onto a small garden and can be accessed separately from the front entrance – ideal for families with teenagers.
Located off Victoria Road in Clifton, the cottage is fully secured with an alarm and is monitored by a security company. There is no dedicated parking – parking is available on-street, however, can be limited during the season. Private, secure, and wonderfully secluded – Bungalow on 4th is an idyllic retreat for escaping from it all.

4The overall space was great — patio and view amazing. Master bedroom was also lovely. The only issue was the downstairs got very hot… however the hosts were gracious enough to drop off 1 fan (there are 2 bedrooms downstairs so that solved it for 1). Access to the beach is super convenient.
Only other flag is there are steps to get down to the property, and steps to get down to the 2 bedrooms for luggage.

3The place is beautiful. Its peaceful and quiet. The views are spectacular. I made a last minute booking and quickly scanned the photos displayed. I thought I had seen a a pool – I wrote to E and V them asking if there was any way that we could move. I sent a photo showing that my mistake was not unreasonable, but they took no repsonsibility at all and told me to take it up with Air B n B. Once we decided to stay, the manager said they would need to change the photo concerned. Given that 2 of the 3 bedrooms are on a lower level facing a brick wall and that there is no pool, I found the price to be too high at about R15 000 per night. But if youre happy with that and you can negotiate the price then, as I say, the views are awesome and the proximity to the beach is good. Beware the infamous steps of Clifton.

5Absolutely stunning location! The place is exactly as described with an exceptional view of the ocean. The entire bungalow is well furnished, squeaky clean and has all the necessary amenities to feel right at home. Florence was great and very friendly! The entire team was responsive, proactive and ensured that we were well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place and plan on returning again! Thank you for making my family’s stay in Cape Town so amazing and we will cherish the memories for a long time!
