Discover the charm of French Country Silo, a unique three-story accommodation built from converted grain silos – the tallest structure in the Constantia Valley. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, paddocks, and the lush greenbelt.
A generous, shaded patio adorned with bougainvillea spans the entire width of the building, creating a perfect setting for outdoor dining and relaxation. Inside, the property features four elegant double en-suite bedrooms with both a bath and shower, queen beds, a cozy lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area—all styled in a distinctive French revival design.
Service & Maintenance: Enjoy complimentary housekeeping three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) with the option for additional services at an extra charge.
Laundry & Pet Policy: Laundry is available for a nominal fee, and pets can be accommodated by prior arrangement with a pet fee.
Modern Comforts: Four air-conditioned bedrooms, a large flat-screen TV with DStv, unlimited high-speed fibre WiFi, a gas stove, and a braai area. Inverters are installed to help minimize interruptions from load shedding.
Set within the expansive Welgelee Estate—once part of a large dairy farm spanning over six acres—this retreat is nestled in one of the Western Cape’s most tranquil and verdant areas. Guests can wander through established gardens, explore equestrian stables, and stroll along the Constantia Greenbelt, where indigenous flora enhances the natural beauty of the region. The estate also boasts a romantic, secluded pool for hot summer days (please note the pool is seasonal and closed in winter).
In addition to the Silo, the estate offers a Main House, a quaint Stable Cottage, and a romantic French Cottage. Although these properties share the estate, the house and garden you book remain completely private. The pool, shared with two other cottages, is conveniently located away from the main accommodations.
Cape Town winters (June–August) are typically cold, wet, and damp—a normal regional climate that does not indicate any mold issues. While the property provides blankets and heaters, guests are advised to pack warm clothing, layers, and rain gear, as indoor temperatures may be cooler than anticipated. For those preferring warmer conditions, consider booking between November and March. Booking during the winter months signifies your acceptance of these conditions.
Experience a one-of-a-kind retreat at French Country Silo, where historic character meets modern luxury amidst the stunning backdrop of Constantia.

5Family loved this delightful peaceful setting that blended tranquility of the area and easy access to the city
5We had such a lovely stay, Anna is a kind a generous host. We would definitely stay again
5Our whole family completely fell in love with the fabulous Silo House and its beautiful garden and peaceful surroundings. The children and adults had fun cooling off in the swimming pool. It surpassed our expectations! It’s in an ideal location to explore downtown Cape Town or enjoy the beaches at Fish Hoek or Kalk Bay or the many wineries close by with a huge choice of excellent restaurants.
5Was ideal for our group. Felt like the perfect summer home.
Will definitely be back if I am ever traveling with a group of friends in that axis.
3Had an okay stay at Elmarie & Nandi Capeholiday’s place. However, it is overpriced, parking is somewhat limited. At least one of the beds sloped and was uncomfortable to sleep-in. There are roosters nearby that can be pretty noisy when you are trying to sleep. Lack of some basic supplies like paper towels. But in fairness most people will probably enjoy staying at this place.
5Anna was a gracious host that provided a site walk through and accommodated our request for a late checkout. The grounds were amazing and the silos and property were a one-of-kind living experience. The location is well positioned for trips to the wineries and botanical garden.
5Lovely location, quiet and peaceful. Shops for grocery shopping not too. Very flexible and responsive host. Very family friendly and would definitely recommend to family and friends.
5I loved every moment of my stay on this magical farm which I was so grateful to discover very last minute. It is an incredibly relaxing and beautiful spot with comfortable light-filled rooms, a fantastic kitchen for cooking, a stunning terrace for morning coffees, afternoon reading, and al fresco dinners with friends–all conveniently located a short drive away from shops and restaurants. Big trees, birds, butterflies, abundant flowers and happy horses everywhere. This is an airbnb with real heart which is impossible not to feel in every moment and with everyone who works there. Thank you, Anna! I cannot wait to return!
5As 3 families staying together but also visiting family in Cape Town, this was an ideal stay location. It is close to local shopping and also ideal for tourists. The house itself is beautiful and set on a dressage farm. Although flies were not a problem at the time we stayed, I can imagine they would’ve in the height of summer. We loved seeing and hearing the horses, goat, chickens etc. all the staff were extremely friendly and polite. We very much enjoyed our visit and we will be booking again next time we come back.
5Anna was a great host! Kids enjoyed meeting different animal in the farm, it was a great experience
5Great base for our five night stay. Four double en-suite bedrooms, quiet and safe location close to some great restaurants, which we went to by Uber.
5Beautiful house on horse farm. Beautiful house scenic area. Comfortable rooms.
5جميل وهاديء والكل كان متعاون معنا ولطيفين
5We enjoyed our stay.
55 Stars – A Truly Memorable Stay!
Our stay in Cape Town was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and professionalism. Every aspect of the accommodation was spotless and perfectly in order, a true testament to the care and attention the hosts put into their place.
All logistics and arrangements were seamless and hassle-free, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We particularly loved exploring the beautiful premises and taking peaceful walks around the stables. The scenery was breathtaking, and the house itself was absolutely stunning – both inside and out.
This was an experience we’ll always remember, and we will certainly be booking with them again for future visits. All said and done, a solid 5 stars!
5I went for my 60th birthday with family. It was absolutely perfect in every way ! Anna was so relaxed about her special things and offered to help with further arrangement. There were so many wonderful animals for my granddaughter to enjoy.
5Logement calme et adapté pour passer du temps avec des amis dans la région du Cap, je recommande.
5Beautiful place, relaxing environment, more than expected
5This was our second visit to the Silos and it suited us perfectly.
All the family loved it and Anna is a superb host.
5Anna the host is beyond kind and helpful , the place is so much taken care of , always responsive and everything we needed was there , the space is great and the green space, I will for sure come again and again anytime
5What a fabulous place for a big family vacation. Anna is a great host and went out of her way to ensure that our stay was comfortable.
Having horses as fellow residents added to the charm of the place. The flies that this brought was a minor hindrance though.
Constantia as a location allowed for easy access to all parts of cape town ,from Hout Bay to Muizenburg beach.
5We loved our stay here. The house is charming and sitting on the verandah during Summer with the beautiful bougainvillea was stunning. Great views from the upstairs bedrooms. Our children loved the horses and chickens too!
5We had a wonderful stay. The host was very accommodating before we even arrived, as I had a few things delivered the day before our check in. The accommodation is equipped with everything you could need and is so spacious. The views from the bedrooms are lovely and the veranda was such a beautiful space to relax and enjoy the surroundings and garden. Walking straight out onto a green belt was such a bonus. It is so well situated and so many amazing wine farms and restaurants were available nearby. Would highly recommend this stay.
5A highly unique and special destination, situated on the Constantia green belt. The setting amongst the stables and farm animals was a delight for young and old and the two legged goat is legendary. The accomodation was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Staying in converted silo’s lived up to all expectations. Anna’s hosting was flawless, caring and considerate. The extras included (cleaning & laundry service, tea, coffee, champagne and much more) were very thoughtful and much appreciated. Highly recommended, we will be back.
2Horrible stay, the Dressage business is the main event with the stables right next to the property bit as per description that’s it’s in close proximity.
5Dear Anna,
Thank you for a warm and lovely welcome to the beautiful house.
The house is clean the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The place is amazing in the heart of wine land. The views from the windows is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay and sure we will be back again.
Anna communication is perfect with wonderful housekeeper.
5The best host in everything.
5We had the most amazing stay in the most incredibly beautiful home. It is one of the nicest airbnbs we have ever stayed in. It was the perfect setting for our family as we prepared for our daughter’s wedding. Anna was so kind and helpful, the staff were friendly and always happy to help. We loved the lovely gardens and surroundings and the view was superb. The entire home was stunning, clean, well furnished and comfortable . We were so sad to leave and would love to go back again in the future.
5A hidden gem with French style architecture, added value & experience of the bedrooms being in a lighthouse design with the most beautiful Mountain View. We visited the end of March. The house was covered in red, serene pink and blossom pink flowers which was simply magical. Sunrise and sunset views (especially from the top right bedroom and viewing from the garden) were simply a must and not to be missed! Cape Town sights kept us out for most of the day but a beautiful family home for 7 of us across 2 generations for special family time. Would definitely return. The host was extremely responsive which always makes you feel at home!
5Great stay thanks for hosting
5Amazing place to stay in Cape Town. Unique experience with the farm stay but in the middle of the city. Kids loved the animals all around.
Inverter was such a bonus with the load shedding. Hosts were extremely responsive.
Amazing stay.
5Absolutely magical place. So much space, beautiful landscaping. Absolutely gem of a stay in Cape Town, wonderful crew working here everyone so willing to accommodate us travelling with a little one and so kind. Thank you Anna and team!
5This was a lovely place to “land” on the first leg of our trip. The garden and serene setting was a highlight. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean.
5We had an amazing few days here. Hosts were lovely and very responsive. The setting is the best, our kids loved all the horses, rabbits, goats and chickens. Pool is just perfect and the location as well. 100% recommend for a bigger group or family.
5All of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay… peaceful, clean and very well maintained.
Plus, the horses were a treat to watch. Definitely would like to revisit in future
All the best for the new year as well.
5A beautiful surprise when entering the premise , sense of peace and ease. The horses, goats and chickens add to the harmonic atmosphere.
Highly recommend, our two boys enjoyed themselves as well.
5This quaint old house is a real gem, situated on a working farm with horses, goats and chickens. It’s a beautiful country experience, except you are very centrally located and it’s super easy to get around from the house. The hosts and cleaning staff are very warm and helpful. There are lots of a nice touches like good quality teas and soaps, as well as bottle of champagne on arrival.
5Our stay at “The Silos” in Cape Town surpassed all expectations. The spacious layout comfortably accommodated two families without feeling crowded. Whilst waking up to stunning views of mountains and horses on either side was a daily joy, leaving our French guests equally enchanted.
What also set our experience apart was our host, Anna. She struck the perfect balance between availability and respecting our privacy. Her exceptional hospitality and flexibility made us feel right at home, even though we never met in person.
The young children had a wonderful time interacting with the resident goats, chickens, and horses, embracing nature. And even my elderly mother found solace in the tranquility and natural surroundings.
Our time at “The Silos” offered a beautiful and comfortable sanctuary, providing the perfect conclusion to our guests South African adventure. We eagerly anticipate our return to this peaceful haven, highly recommending it for a heartfelt and memorable experience.
5Absolutely delightful spot and such a relaxing stay. Perfect for larger groups as each bedroom feels like a little “wing” with its own bathroom and beautiful big tub. So lovely and peaceful to wake up to the birds and have the sun streaming in the windows. Babies loved all the animals especially the “neigh-neighs” (horses!) Kitchen is well equipped and eating meals outdoors is such a treat. Just lovely.
5Anna was a great host! Loved being able to wander through the lovely grounds and meet the horses, goats and of course chickens. Beautiful views from all rooms. A piece of paradise in the heart of Cape Town.
5What an amazing we had in these wonderfully converted silos on a working farm. Couldn’t fault this space at all.
Highly recommended and especially for extended family get-aways as each bedroom has an en suite and the garden is private and secure
5Very accommodating and such a beautiful place
5What a spectacular French villa in beautiful Constantia! The silo’s were fantastic for our family of six! Very spacious and super comfortable. The garden is tranquil and the horses add a lovely atmosphere to the property. The views are spectacular! The kitchen was very well equipped with special touches like fresh coffee, tea, flowers, biscuits and bubbly! Attention to small details such as shampoo, hand wash and cream in all 5 bathrooms were appreciated! The free cleaning is such a bonus, thank you Anna and Alice! We absolutely loved our time and our family hope to return and will 100% recommend your spot!
5we so enjoyed our stay at the French Country converted silo.
All rooms and bathrooms were nice and
big. Plenty of hot water for bathing in the large baths.
Loadshedding was happening but we never even noticed it . TV and lights stayed on all the time.
Thank you we were very comfortable.
5Very nice house in lovey grounds. Well kept gardens and stables nearby. Very nice area.
House was like the pictures, very spacious, big bedrooms, all kept very clean. Had everything we needed.
3Tolle Unterkunft! Leider waren Bäder nicht sauber und die Matratze hatte ein Brandloch.
5Spacious and all rooms have separate bathrooms. Host was helpful and very responsive also lent us a cooler for beach day!
5Four adults stayed two weeks in Jan 2023.
Meeting Anna the owner at the start and end was a pleasure and she was always available on her phone with helpful advice from start to finish. Alice came on alternate days with cleaning and laundry staff who were very efficient.
The accommodation is first class and Anna’s solar inverter system gave us enough electricity for lighting and wi-fi downstairs during outages. The electric cooker went off at those times but she went out and bought us a double gas burner. The kitchen has a wide range of equipment and there are half a dozen restaurants within 10 minutes drive and also two shopping malls.
We have family in Cape Town and their children were allowed to use the pool with us when they were free on both Sundays. The stairs are steepish and you need to be fit.
Dressage horses are the raison d’être of the farm but do not interfere with your stay. We found them fascinating. The situation is definitely rural but security is fine.
4If you are looking for a laid back country style – quaint type of accommodation then this is it. Traveling with kids/ teenagers or as couples, this place is suited to large groups in general. Gives each their own space to relax. The suites are particularly great!
4Nice accommodation in Constantia which is suitable for a large family (4 bedrooms). The horse stables are right next and it was nice to visit the horses in the evening.
5We had an amazing stay! House is really great, we’ll equipped, with comfortable beds and a beautiful view. The property is very large and amazing for kids to explore and play.
There is battery for when loadshedding occurs, so WiFi, tv, lights etc continue to work when the power is off – which is a lifesaver these days.
Thank you!
5We had a really good time at the Country silo. It was serene, comfortable and quiet. The location was pretty much ideal in terms of accessing the city and local amenities. If you are looking for an authentic place to stay then the country silo is the place to be.
5Great little spot, like a farm oasis in the suburbs. The horses were a beautiful treat!
5A wonderful play to stay. Kitted out with everything and very well organised. Thank you so much!
5Outstanding location, charming and rustic home, delightful staff and responsive hosts. These were much appreciated. We had a brilliant experience.
5A beautiful and spacious house in equally beautiful surroundings! It is conventiently located close to shops, good restaurants, wine farms.
Some rooms are a bit cold so be prepared especially if you visit in the winter. But, it is absolutely worth it.
5Fantastic location. Lots of space with amazing views. Large rooms were fantastic. Just be aware of the stairs if you have heavy bags! Anna was a great host and very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend the property,
5The perfect spot to call home while exploring Cape Town. Plenty of space for our big family, and everything you need to have a great stay. The kids loved the horses so close to the accommodation, as well as the swimming pool. Bedrooms are very spacious and beds comfortable. It feels as though you are in the country yet everything is around you.
Highly recommend.
5The place is great. Plenty of rooms (and bathrooms !).
Quite atypical in terms of architecture.
Anna was a great host. Very available and welcoming. Communication was easy.
The fact that the house is in a horse farm is just awesome for kids. Mine played all day feeding them and petting the goat.
Location is perfect to be close to CT but without the hassle of the big city. The neighborhood is safe and relaxed, a few minutes from the main wine estates of Constantia.
I can’t see anything I would change. We had a really great time will enjoy coming back soon !
5Wonderful comfortable home in the middle of a beautiful horse farm. Wish we had had more time to just chill on the beautiful veranda. Location is perfect with the restaurants at Uitsig Constantia very nearby and loads of walking trails to explore. A quick few minutes into town or to beautiful wineries. Hope to be back soon!
5This is a lovely, clean, centrally located house in the Southern Suburbs! Really peaceful surrounds, with a farm like feel…our little one loved the horses! Communication was excellent, and we really appreciated the thoughtful added extras on arrival (milk, butter, bread, fruit, shortbread), including laundry being done for us 3x in the week. Beautiful outside spaces for eating al fresco, and if you have little ones in tow, great spaces for them to run and play. Would love to return in summer to fully enjoy everything this house has to offer. Highly recommend!
5The Silos are a fantastic stay for a larger group of people. We were welcomed by the owner, Anna, who was lovely and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. Although there are others staying on the larger property you ha e your privacy with your own front garden and view of the paddocks. We loved every minute of our stay!
5This place is nothing short of incredible! Looked better than the pictures and the pictures are already fantastic.
The gardens to the furniture to the choice of crockery.
Everything was just beyond expectations. This place was a dream and we were so lucky to have found it. Anna was a great help and her recommendations were top notch! Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.
