5. 5We were primarily in contact with the manager, Que, who was extremely helpful, responsive, and professional throughout our stay. I didn’t have much direct communication with Lyall. The property itself is superb, beautifully maintained and very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The pool area is particularly stunning, and the heated pool adds an extra touch of luxury that we really appreciated. The sloped pathways and stairs leading to the house are visually appealing and add to the charm of the property. However, families with very young children may want to take extra care, as there are no safety rails in certain areas for added protection. The staff were efficient, friendly, and always willing to assist, which made our experience even more enjoyable.

9. 5The two homes were were fabulous for our gathering of family and friends. It was lovely and beautiful as shown. We would recommend this home for big groups as it is large enough were we never felt on top of each other. Great fireplace where we all gathered and talked as families do

10. 5We had such a beautiful stay, the house was very big and spacious. Almost all the rooms are ensuite, private and so heavenly. We would definitely book it again.
    The house was being cleaned and linen changed everyday.
    The two lady cleaners were so amazing, a great addition to the house.
    Que the lady that welcomed us was so welcoming and friendly.

12. 5I had a great stay at Lyall’s place! The home was very clean, well-kept, and exactly as described. The hospitality and care from the housekeepers were wonderful and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. I’d definitely recommend this stay

13. 3Good Bones but Tired…
    Our stay at the villa in Constantia was a mixed experience. The location/ view was excellent, and having access to both the Lyonesse House and Lyons Den (nice views/updated) was convenient for our group of ten couples. Although there was rolling power, backup power was available during outages. The bedrooms were adequate, but the lack of heating and air conditioning in most rooms was uncomfortable. The unpreparedness on our arrival required us to purchase blankets and request heaters. We ran out of hot water daily. Additionally, the kitchenware was lacking, with insufficient crockery, appliances, and mismatched silverware, necessitating extra arrangements. The furniture and drapery were drab/worn, failing to meet expected standards for a villa of this caliber. Despite the friendly, hardworking, staff’s efforts to ensure our comfort, the overall experience was underwhelming. The villa needs significant updates, as it did not feel like a treat for our getaway.

14. 5The house was absolutely gorgeous and fit what we were looking for as a large group. Each room was stunning and comfortable. We felt we were living in luxury at an affordable price.

15. 5The prefect place for 3 families to base ourselves while exploring all that Cape Town has to offer. Macdonald and his team treated us to an incredible dinner and Don kept us warm with constant fires. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

17. 4Insgesamt hatten wir eine tolle Zeit in der Villa. Wir waren mit 8 Personen auf einer Golfreise und haben die Villa als Basisunterkunft genutzt. Die Villa ist sehr geräumig, wir hatten alle ein Einzelzimmer. Die Ausstattung ist gut, allerdings sind einige Ausrüstungsgegenstände schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten einige sehr heiße Tage und hätten uns in den Schlafzimmern eine Klimaanlage gewünscht. Die Musikanlage für den Aussenbereich könnte auch mal ein Update gebrauchen. Sie hat nicht mehr richtig funktioniert. Schade bei entspannten Stunden am Pool. Der Service hat super funktioniert. Die beiden Hausmädchen waren absolut top und haben uns toll geholfen. Insgesamt hatten wir eine tolle Woche. Da sich die Villa für Südafrika auf einem sehr hohen Preisniveau befindet, sollten die kleinen Mängel vielleicht noch beseitigt werden.

19. 5We had a wonderful stay at Lyall’s villa. The home was lovely and surrounded by beautiful views. We were in Cape Town for a team retreat. The glass-enclosed pool house was an inspiring spot for meaningful conversation and dialogue. The rooms were well-appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed.

    רק היו מס׳ תקלות:
    כשהגענו לא היו מים חמים ביום הראשון, המנורה בחדר אוכל לא עבדה, המחמם מגבות לא עבד.
    אני מוכרחה לציין כשפנינו לראיין הוא מייד שלח אנשים לסדר את זה. אבל מקום כזה יקר לרשימת תקלות שכזו זה מאכזב. במיוחד שלא הוצע לנו שום פיצוי על זה שלילה שלם אחרי 20 שעות טיסה לא יכולנו להתקלח.
    את המגבות מחליפים כל יומיים רק.
    יש עוזרת צמודה שמסדרת רק את החדרים. שאר הבית נשאר מלוכלך. גם בחדר היא מסדרת את המיטות ולוקחת את האשפה בלבד. שאר החדר נשאר מלוכלך. היא לא נחמדה ולא מחייכת ועושה טובה שהיא עושה משהו.
    הבחור של האחזקה איש מדהים.
    ניתן לחמם את הבריכה.
    ראיין ממש עשה הכל בשביל לתקן את כל התקלות ולאחר התלונה על העוזרת נתן לנו אותה גם לשבת שאמור להיות היום החופשי שלה. היא לא עשתה כלום ביום הזה. אכלנו ארוחת בוקר. האוכל היה על השולחן עד שאנחנו לבסוף פינינו אותו.
    שורה תחתונה, לרמת מחיר כזו צריך שירות מהשורה הראשונה וזה לא היה לנו.

21. 5Lyonesse House was a perfect home base for our large travel group on our Cape Town adventure. The house and grounds keeping staff were accommodating and friendly, and the hosts were very responsive and helpful at all times. We traveled during the Winter and the staff made sure there was a roaring fire to help keep us warm in the chilly evenings. Back up power also made load shedding events barely noticeable.

22. 4We had a great stay here. The host was very accomodating with check-in and check-out times. The onground staff took great care of us, they even did our laundry and they cleaned the house daily. The area is nice and calm and there is a good restaurant nearby. Cape Town is not far by Uber/Taxi. The pool and garden are great and the house was amazing. Only thing that could be improved would be to perhaps get a generator for times of load shedding. We enjoyed our stay very much!

23. 5I don’t know where to start! Everything about this property was superb! There was plenty of space for the 11 of us. I probably asked a billion questions and Llyal and/or Ryan were quick to answer. If I asked for special request or services referred they made sure I got them. Ruth(housekeeper) and Donn(Grounds keeper) were such a delight. During our stay they made sure we were good! The views were beyond amazing. The home was spotless clean. I would definitely recommend this property. When we return we will be staying here again. Thank you all so much for this awesome vacation.

26. 5We had an excellent stay at the Villa Lyonesse. It is perfectly suitable for a group stay. The villa is clean and safe and offers a lot of space. The location is very good for exploring Cape Town as well as the Cape region while avoiding the crowds.
    Communication with our hosts was excellent and they offered very good advice. Highly recommended!

27. 5We stayed at Lyonesse with our big group of extended family including several children for one week. It is a lovely house with a big garden and pool that really helped keeping the kids active and entertained. Everything was exactly as described and our host Ryan was always very responsive and accommodating with special requests such as early luggage drop off or moving our rental dates after we had to postpone our wedding in Cpt earlier this year due to Covid.
    The house staff – Ruth & Donn – were friendly and very helpful with different requests.
    We’re staying a second time next week and are all looking forward to going back there as we felt so comfortable. Thank you so much!

    Fantastic hosts and beautiful house, grounds, pool and list goes on. Everything was just like we wanted it and more. I’ll definitely recommend this house for anyone to stay in. Easy to get to and from cape town from here. This was the wow finish of our time in Cape Town. Thanks

29. 5we booked this house due to our wedding in Capetown. The whole family including the children loved it. For us as Germans it was very surprising having Staff at the house. We were not used to have someone to help us with the house hold. Ruth and Donny were so nice and helped us all the time. Ruth and Donny were so lovely and helped us with any kind of questions. We would highly recommend this house for big groups and familes:-)

The villa caters perfectly for large groups, we had everything we needed for a long stay and with multiple guests. Friendly and helpful housekeeper and gardener. 48. 3The pool was not working and turbid, we couldn’t use it. Smells drain in one bathroom with jacuzzi. The house is nearby the road so a lot of noice from the traffic. The house is beautiful and in good condition.
