Experience Milkwood in Kommetjie

Set in a Milkwood tree enclave easy access to the beach and mountains. The Kommetjie holiday house has lovely sea views and a deck for entertaining. Recently renovated, luxury getaway Kommetjie is a small village situated in the Southern Peninsula en route to Scarborough. Known for it’s surfing it’s a wonderful place for a holiday located close to Cape Point, Simons Town but away from the holiday scrum.

Milkwood is situated in the older part of Kommetjie in the lee of the mountain, protecting it from the South Easter. With three bedrooms (one en-suite), two bathrooms, guest toilet, TV room you have everything needed for a relaxing stay in paradise. A king size bed, two singles, and a queen to accommodate up to six people. The main bedroom also has its own TV as does the TV room, linked to DSTV and a DVD player in each location. As you walk up from the sea into the house on a rural rustic road, you’ll hardly believe that you are just 30 minutes from Cape Town. The entrance to the house has a stair-lit staircase echoing the light that shines every night from the local historic lighthouse which warns ships of the ragged coastline.

Walk into the open plan dining/living area and enjoy the views towards Chapman’s Peak and you’ll be able to judge the surf. Outside you can enjoy a drink at the end of a day in the surf with views of the sea and adjoining milkwoods, like being in a Milkwood forest. A gas braai is available for cooking, an ice machine will keep your drinks cool on hot summer days. There is also a beach umbrella and beach towels plus a picnic blanket and towels.

The Galley kitchen is recently renovated and easy to whip up your daily meals -it includes a kettle, microwave, oven, stove as well as a toaster. Or just use the Gas Braai outside with fresh fish ordered from the local fisherman.

Upstairs the light streams in during the day – you can whale watch from the top windows or if you’re feeling lazy, read a book in bed looking out into a milkwood forest while White Eyes jump from branch to branch. Each bedroom enjoys this tree top view. Modern bathrooms complete your experience of a luxury hideaway in Milkwoods. You’ll be woken by bird song every morning. You’ll leave Kommetjie refreshed and energised.
